- ➤ Chester County was ranked among the best U.S. counties for raising children by a Washington Post analysis that scored safety, education quality and policy support—though affordability scored lower. - ➤ West Chester’s Charles A. Melton Arts and Education Center was honored with a $51,172 NBCUniversal Local Impact Grant on November 11 in recognition of decades of service to local residents. Founded in 1934 and renamed in 2004 for local activist Charles A.
