  • Authorities in Chester are searching for an 18-year-old suspect wanted for a July 24 West End shooting—officers found a victim with gunshot wounds and evidence tied to a dispute over an abandoned vehicle—and have issued an arrest warrant charging him with attempted murder and other related offenses.  MyChesCo
  • On July 30, an 18-year-old man was injured in a drive-by shooting in the 600 block of East Harmony Street in Coatesville just before 7 p.m.—police recovered shell casings and are asking anyone with information to come forward.  MyChesCo
  • Chester County police identified Mario Lopez-Sanchez, a 29-year-old male, as the suspect who stabbed an adult in Avondale on July 19 near East Third Street at approximately 8:00 p.m.—officers issued an arrest warrant after the victim, suffering multiple stab wounds, was taken to the hospital.  MyChesCo

  • State Rep. Aaron Bernstine introduced legislation to bar registered sex offenders from gaining legal parental rights through surrogacy—he also proposed requiring criminal background checks and child abuse clearances to align surrogacy rules with adoption safeguards.
