- ➤ On Sunday, Dec. 28, a hiker was injured by a coyote on Warwick Furnace Road in Warwick Township; health officials said the trail user received lacerations and should get rabies shots while the Pennsylvania Game Commission searches for the animal. VISTA Today

- ➤ Former congressman Dick Schulze, who helped secure Valley Forge National Historical Park, died at 96 on Jan. 4. He served on the House Ways and Means Committee and is remembered (by colleagues and family) as firm yet fair. VISTA Today
