  • On Sunday, Dec. 28, a hiker was injured by a coyote on Warwick Furnace Road in Warwick Township; health officials said the trail user received lacerations and should get rabies shots while the Pennsylvania Game Commission searches for the animal.  VISTA Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Former congressman Dick Schulze, who helped secure Valley Forge National Historical Park, died at 96 on Jan. 4. He served on the House Ways and Means Committee and is remembered (by colleagues and family) as firm yet fair.  VISTA Today

  • Residents can enjoy public skating and lessons at several local rinks—Downingtown’s The Campus offers weekend sessions, West Chester’s Ice Line Quad Rinks features Friday and holiday hours, Exton’s Power Play Rinks hosts family activities, and Kennett Creamery Winter Park holds free Saturday and Sunday skates.  VISTA Today

  • After Iron Hill Brewery abruptly closed this fall, John Barry—who purchased the property assets from Famous Dave’s BBQ CEO Jeff Crivello—says he is seeking new tenants for the 10,000 sqft space with preserved kitchen, furniture, and brewing equipment, and he hopes to fill the location by this summer.  VISTA Today
