  • A study by Manifest Law found that Pennsylvania H-1B workers earned a median salary of $105K in 2022 — with Deloitte and TATA Consultancy among the top sponsors. A $100,000 fee for overseas applications, implemented on Sept. 21, and new wage rules have already reshaped global hiring practices.  WFMZ-TV

FINANCE NEWS

  • On Monday, Dec. 22, a Pennsylvania lottery ticket matched five numbers to win $1 million days before Christmas, and the jackpot now stands at an estimated $1.7 billion, with the next drawing scheduled for today.  FOX 29

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • With more than 7.4 million vehicles expected during the holiday period and about 550,000 on Friday, PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advise drivers to check weather forecasts + avoid unnecessary travel as wintry conditions are forecast to bring snow and ice, with crews pre-treating roadways to reduce hazards.  WFMZ-TV

  • Food safety inspectors found violations such as improper food temperatures, equipment issues, and sanitation lapses at establishments in Chester County this week—impacting a West Chester restaurant, Exton’s Joe’s Kwik Marts, and a West Whiteland Township café—and ordered corrective measures to protect public health.  MyChesCo
