  • CCOIC President Javonna Wylie will join the panel at The Wardrobe Office in Philadelphia on Dec. 18 (an event focused on confidence, identity, and career growth) where attendees can donate professional winter attire, enjoy a light breakfast, and network with local employers.  VISTA Today
  • Residents and staff at Freedom Village at Brandywine rallied to support local families by collecting over 140 toys and $350 in gift cards for Reeceville Elementary's Project Snowflake holiday drive. The donations went directly across the street to help children ages three to 12 during the season.  MyChesCo
  • Rosemary Fordjour, founder of ROW Psychiatric Services, donated $20K to Home of the Sparrow to boost mental health support for women and children in the community. The gift reinforces a growing partnership that strengthens local care and community ties.  VISTA Today
  • T-Mobile awarded a $47,500 Hometown Grant to the Chester County Creative Club in Coatesville to launch its Future Innovators project that offers hands-on STEAM learning for underprivileged youth — a ceremonial check presentation is scheduled today at 2:00 p.m. at the club on East Chestnut Street.  MyChesCo

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Three nonprofit country clubs in Chester County ranked among the region’s top ten asset-rich clubs in 2022 based on IRS filings, with Waynesborough posting $31.01 million, Whitford recording $16.2 million + St. Davids reporting $14.41 million.  VISTA Today
  • In February, the Freys will open Street Cart Bagels at the former Boston Market on Nutt Road in Phoenixville. The new shop will offer five bagel varieties, cream cheeses, lunch sandwiches, and signature coffee blends (with limited indoor seating and plans for outdoor seating later).  VISTA Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Wednesday, Pennsylvania officials announced $3 million in funding to expand hospital violence intervention programs and help victims of gun violence heal. Four groups, including Chester Community Coalition’s relaunch project after a local hospital closure, will use the grants to improve care + support recovery and break cycles of harm.  MyChesCo

HEALTH NEWS

  • County health inspectors cited several Chester County eateries for food safety and sanitation violations during Thursday inspections in West Chester, Downingtown, and Coatesville. Officials noted the findings are a snapshot of that day and required immediate corrective actions to protect public health.  MyChesCo

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • New York-based Mirbeau Hospitality Services bought Greystone Hall in West Chester for $6.5M on December 12. The 44-acre property (including a three-story mansion, garage and carriage house) will be transformed into a luxury boutique resort and spa.  VISTA Today
