  • Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced a quarterly dividend of $0.10 per share for its common and Class B stock, with payment scheduled on Dec. 12 for shareholders of record on Dec. 3 — the move reflects continued global demand for electronic parts.  MyChesCo
  • TELA Bio announced a new round of equity awards to attract and retain talent by awarding 30,200 restricted stock units for 17 new hires + stock options for one employee; the awards, granted on November 10 with four-year vesting, supported the firm’s expansion in soft-tissue reconstruction technologies.  MyChesCo

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Immaculata Symphony will perform its annual Christmas concert on Dec. 7 at Immaculata University’s Alumnae Hall and will feature a live screening of The Snowman along with other holiday favorites at 3:00 p.m. Music Director Joseph Gehring will lead the orchestra and tickets cost $10 for general admission (students and children attend for free).  VISTA Today
  • Chester County has been featured in films and TV shows this decade as Adam Sandler filmed Hustle in Coatesville and dined at DanDan in Wayne, the Netflix series Tires was shot at Tires Etc. on Gay Street in West Chester, HBO’s Task filmed at Lefty’s Bar in Coatesville, and an upcoming adaptation of Heaven & Earth Grocery Store will begin filming in nearby Pottstown.  VISTA Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • PennDOT will close a section of Route 52 between Tracie Lynn Drive and Rosedale Avenue from December 1 to December 24 for stormwater system upgrades as part of a $15.9 million initiative on over 90 state highways—motorists should follow detour routes including Birmingham Road, Route 926, U.S. 202, Business U.S. 322, and Route 52 while local access remains available. The work is weather dependent and drivers are urged to allow extra travel time.  MyChesCo

SPORTS NEWS

  • The West Chester University women's soccer team beat West Virginia State 5-2 on November 21 at Rockwell Field—Kianna Barber scored a historic hat trick in the first 47 minutes and Victoria Pungello added two goals to set a new scoring record; they then defeated Fairmont State 1-0 on November 23 and will play in the Atlantic Regional Championship on November 30.  The Quad
  • West Chester University Fencing Club is expanding its campus presence as rising membership drives weekly practices, gear-provided training, and regional tournaments led by coaches Mark and Joe. The club hosts social events — including group dinners — and welcomes both new and experienced athletes to learn the sport.  The Quad
  • West Chester University Women’s Basketball Team lost 83-50 to LaSalle on Tuesday, November 18 in their first inter-divisional matchup in over 40 years—WCU recorded 26 fouls compared to LaSalle's 14 and struggled with rebounds, marking their worst loss in nearly four years.  The Quad
  • Fatima Rizvi began playing golf in Lucknow, India and soon joined international tournaments before moving to the United States. She won her first college event at Albright and now plays for West Chester University while aiming to improve her scores for the spring conference championship—her journey shows hard work and talent.  The Quad
