  • Family Service of Chester County released its Impact Report showing that over 1,775 families received help with counseling, housing, and parenting support during the past year—its numbers and stories detail a strong effort that will lead to expanded services in the future.  VISTA Today

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Dr. Tori Nuccio received PASSHE’s Keepers of the Flame Award on Oct. 29 for her work in promoting equity, student support and better access to higher education at WCU. She has spent 13 years in financial aid, started the WCU Resource Pantry and secured funds for students' basic needs—showing her strong leadership in creating a more inclusive campus.  VISTA Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State lawmakers created the Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit to give low- and moderate-income workers a state refund—equal to 10% of their federal Earned Income Tax Credit—that can reach up to $805; nearly 1 million Pennsylvanians are expected to benefit when the refundable credit goes into effect for tax year 2025.  The Philadelphia Inquirer

HEALTH NEWS

  • Food safety inspections on November 19 at several local restaurants showed many issues with hygiene, temperature control and maintenance, with some items discarded for safety—officials urge residents to report unsafe conditions through the county complaint portal.  MyChesCo

  • A report on Tuesday accused Ernst Tanner, the Union’s sporting director, of racism, sexism and homophobia — allegations that led the club to put him on administrative leave.   • A.J. Brown said on Thursday that the Eagles’ offense is close to finishing drives as they work to improve passing before their game against Dallas — he laughed off claims of a decline by saying he only watches Julio Jones.  The Philadelphia Inquirer
