- ➤ On October 19, cooks gathered on West Chester’s Gay Street to serve different styles of chili and help those facing food insecurity. Organized by Fiorenza’s Food For Friends (a nonprofit working to prevent hunger), the cook-off featured local vendors and donated leftover food to Safe Harbor emergency shelter. VISTA Today

- ➤ On Sept. 11, five Indigenous Lenape elders from the Delaware Tribe of Indians visited West Chester University in a program hosted by the Chester County History Center as part of America250—traveling from Oklahoma, they shared their traditions and hopes that local youth will continue to learn about Lenape culture. - ➤ The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission voted 5-0 on Thursday to investigate PPL Electric’s request for a $356 million rate increase—one that would raise a typical residential bill by about $13 and pause the new rates until at least seven months after the planned December 1 start date. Public hearings will be scheduled soon to gather customer testimony before PPL aims for new rates on July 1. WFMZ-TV
