- ➤ West Chester University students turned a classroom project into The Great Pumpkin Play Day, a fall festival set for Sunday, Oct 26 from 1 to 4 PM at the basketball and tennis courts behind Sykes Student Union—if weather is poor, the event will move indoors to 110 W. Rosedale Avenue. All proceeds will go toward care packages for Safe Harbor—an organization helping local individuals experiencing homelessness. VISTA Today
- ➤ Five Chester County leaders were honored in Main Line Today's 2025 Class of Power Women. The honorees include Javonna Wylie, Catherine Charlton, Lauren Ranalli, Tessa Jenkins — and Jill Bauer, each recognized for leading efforts in social work, music, banking, wellness and media. VISTA Today
- ➤ Penn State Brandywine Garden, managed by Emily Dozor, won first place in the Advanced Community Garden category at Delaware County’s 34th annual contest. - ➤ The federal government shutdown delays Pennsylvania’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program until Dec. 3—if funding is released soon, lower-income households needing winter heating help must wait.
