  • Family Service of Chester County is holding its annual Holiday Gift Drive—collecting essential gifts and items for children and families facing hardship in the area. Organizers said the drive, now underway, aims to build on last year's efforts that provided over 700 gifts, 12 bicycles and more than 3,000 diapers to support local residents.  VISTA Today
  • Chester County United Way held its annual Live United in Music event last week—raising $150,000 to support programs that help local families with financial stability and self-sufficiency.   • Eagleview Town Center welcomes back local businesses as Gemini Hair Design Studio and Spa reopens after a temporary fire closure and Wellington Square Bookshop opens today at 10:00 a.m. with a celebration featuring giveaways and discounted books — the center continues to work with other temporarily closed shops.  VISTA Today

CULTURE NEWS

  • Willistown Township filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan announced two new projects — his live-action series Magic 8 Ball, co-created with Brad Falchuk, and a horror-romance novel, Remain, developed with Nicholas Sparks. Remain will release Tuesday and its film adaptation will come in fall.  VISTA Today

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Jason Porter, the STEM Department Chair at Church Farm School, has been selected as a U.S. Department of Defense STEM Ambassador for 2025-2026 and is one of only 30 educators nationwide chosen for the role. He will work closely with TIES + develop curriculum in key areas to help students prepare for STEM careers.  VISTA Today
  • Unionville High School student Collin Hu launched Plonk It—an online tool that uses Google Street View to help people explore history and geography. The service partners with GeoGuessr and hosts workshops at local venues, and it reached over 38,000 users while winning a community award last year.  VISTA Today

  • Chadds Ford Township officials plan to auction Painter’s Folly, a home built in 1857 that is over 170 years old and once served as artist Andrew Wyeth’s studio, because they cannot secure help to maintain it. Preservationists oppose the sale — they worry the auction could threaten an important piece of local art history.  VISTA Today

HEALTH NEWS

  • Today, ChesPenn Health Services donated laptops to the Making a Change Group to help youth and parents bridge the digital divide and access education through programs like Connected Families, Team MAC, and GVINE.
