  • West Chester University will host Homecoming and Family Weekend from Oct. 3 to Oct. 5 and invite students, alumni and friends to join events like a kickoff party, a comedy show and a football game—ticket prices and registration details vary by event. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Leaving devices plugged in wastes energy called phantom energy, which uses 5% to 10% of home power and increases emissions that harm the environment. Experts advise West Chester residents to unplug unused devices or adjust settings on smart electronics — steps that can lower energy bills and reduce carbon footprints.  The Philadelphia Inquirer

  • PennDOT announced that Carlino Developers will begin installing sewer lines on Guthriesville Road in East Brandywine Township on Wednesday, October 15, and the road will be closed with a detour until Tuesday, December 23—motorists should allow extra time for delays.  MyChesCo
