  • Habitat for Humanity of Chester County will host Pennsylvania’s only Rural Rally on Oct. 30 at Fuller Meadows in West Grove. The event offers a presentation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. + a volunteer drywall session from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with space for 20 volunteers.  VISTA Today
  • Good Food Fest will take place on Nov. 2 at Kimberton Fairgrounds in Chester County and will feature over 100 local vendors, cooking demos, and activities for children. Hosted by Growing Roots Partners, the event will run from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.—families are welcome to join the fun and sample local food.  VISTA Today
  • On September 20th, T&E Care celebrated its 20th anniversary at Waynesborough Country Club with a cocktail hour, buffet dinner and live music by The Key Duo, raising $160,000 to support families in the Tredyffrin and Easttown communities. The event also honored longtime supporter Sandi Gorman with a citation, certificate and special gift—marking two decades of care and commitment.  VISTA Today

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant closed all its locations yesterday due to ongoing financial challenges and bankruptcy filings — management notified all employees in West Chester, Exton and other areas, and the chain had already shut down three local locations weeks before.  VISTA Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Shapiro administration expanded a free statewide legal hotline—operated by attorneys from the SeniorLAW Center—to help grandparents raising grandchildren navigate custody and court preparation. The service now reaches all 67 counties in Pennsylvania, ensuring easier access to legal advice and caregiver resources.  MyChesCo
  • Chester County approved an ordinance to establish its first Human Relations Commission — a group tasked with addressing discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations. At a public meeting on Wednesday, commissioners Josh Maxwell and Marian Moskowitz voted in favor while Commissioner Eric Roe opposed, and volunteer members will be appointed to serve three-year terms.  MyChesCo

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Eagles will travel to Tampa on Sunday at 1 p.m. to face the Buccaneers as both teams remain 3-0, and experts predict a *tightly contested* game with returning key players for the Eagles and injury struggles for the Bucs.  The Philadelphia Inquirer
  • On Friday, pitcher Aaron Nola helped the Phillies beat the Twins 3—1 by pitching eight nearly perfect innings with only two hits and nine strikeouts, boosting his chance for the playoff rotation. Phillies manager Rob Thomson said he may use Nola in the bullpen during the NL Division Series as the team gets ready for the postseason.  WFMZ-TV
