  • Javonna Wylie of the Chester County Opportunities Industrialization Center was named one of Main Line Today's Power Women 2025—she will be honored at the Power Women Summit on Oct. 23 at The Drexelbrook Event Center in Drexel Hill.  VISTA Today
  • Safe Harbor of Chester County in West Chester announced that Chris Street from Collegeville has joined as its new Director of Development — he brings strong nonprofit fundraising experience from his work at the Boys + Girls Club. He will lead efforts to support services for those facing homelessness and poverty and organize Golftoberfest on Tuesday, September 30 at the White Manor Country Club.  VISTA Today
  • Chester County Commissioners proclaimed October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month to support survivors and honor victims, and the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County— which served 1,853 people last year and reached over 5,500 with free counseling and legal support—will host countywide events including Light the Night for Hope and Healing on Oct. 7.  MyChesCo

  • Verrica Pharmaceuticals received regulatory approval for its Ycanth in Japan — triggering a $10 million payment from partner Torii Pharmaceutical. The West Chester company said it would use the funds — to boost U.S. sales efforts.  VISTA Today

  • Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday warned seniors that scammers are sending unprescribed durable medical equipment through the mail to defraud Medicare—patients should check their Medicare claims and report any suspicious packages or bills.  WFMZ-TV

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Aqua PA is investing $380M in 2025 to strengthen its water systems for 1.5 million customers in 33 counties. The company is replacing aging water mains, upgrading treatment plants, and installing new monitoring systems—preparing communities for severe weather this fall and winter.  VISTA Today

EDUCATION NEWS

  • At West Chester University's first home football game on Sept. 20, the school named its field Tomlinson-Fillippo Field to honor alumnus Robert 'Tommy' Tomlinson ’70 and alumnus Tom Fillippo ’69. The Golden Rams won 34-16 against Seton Hill and a new state-of-the-art video scoreboard funded by Roger and Agnes Ware was unveiled.  VISTA Today

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • A new report by Stacker shows that nine towns in Chester County are among Pennsylvania’s most expensive housing markets based on Zillow data from May. Devon is ranked as the second most expensive town with a median home value of $945,574—West Chester is 20th with a median of $650,322.  VISTA Today

  • The Phillies hit a team-record eight home runs in an 11-1 win over the Marlins last night+ Edmundo Sosa hit three and Kyle Schwarber had two, helping secure a first-round bye. They will host the Division Series at home starting Oct. 4+ setting the stage for their postseason push.  WFMZ-TV
