- ➤ Chester County Community Foundation hosted an institute for nonprofit board members with about 170 attendees who learned practical skills, networked at resource tables, and left with actionable plans. The event featured keynote speeches on high-impact boards — providing clear strategies for filling upcoming board roles. VISTA Today
- ➤ Four unclaimed veterans who died in Chester County will be honored with full military honors later this month at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. The ceremony is hosted by the Chester County Coroner’s Office on October 30 at 2:00 p.m. at 830 Highland Road in Newtown and will include a flag presentation, a rifle salute, and the playing of Taps. - ➤ PennDOT announced that lane closures will occur next week on Chester County state highways: Saint Matthews Road in West Vincent Township will have alternating closures from Tuesday, September 23 to Friday, September 26 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and Phoenixville Pike in West Whiteland Township will see closures with flagging from Wednesday, September 24 to Friday, September 26 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. — drivers should allow extra travel time. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Eastern University completed renovations on its St. Davids baseball field in August — the updated field now has synthetic turf, new dugouts, bullpens, wall padding, batting cages, a sound system, and a large video board that will be used in the 2026 season. The project was funded by the 'A Time to Rise' campaign and aims to give student-athletes better opportunities. VISTA Today
