  • T&E Care & the community honored retired founder Sandi Gorman for her visionary leadership as part of the nonprofit’s 20th anniversary celebration.  VISTA Today
  • Chester County Day’s 84th annual tour will take place on Oct. 4 from 10 AM to 5 PM as residents can explore beautiful historic homes, estates, and barns across southwest Chester County—organized by the Women’s Auxiliary to Chester County Hospital that has raised over $5 million to support the hospital over many years.  VISTA Today
  • Chester County Food Bank held its 2nd Annual Rally Against Hunger at West Chester’s historic courthouse on September 16—local leaders, students and county officials spoke out against food insecurity. The food bank will work to collect 12,000 pounds of food during Hunger Action Month.  VISTA Today
  • Safe Harbor of Chester County will host Golftoberfest Benefit 2025 on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at White Manor Country Club in Malvern—an event where community members can play golf and pickleball and join a dinner to support programs that help end homelessness. The day will begin with a cookout at 11 a.m., followed by a 12 p.m. golf scramble and a pickleball clinic with a dinner and awards ceremony later in the afternoon.  VISTA Today

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Carlino's Market in West Chester was honored with the 2025 Family-Owned Business Award from the Philadelphia Business Journal on September 16. The accolade recognizes its strong heritage in natural and wholesome products that helped the business grow from a small pasta shop in 1983 to employing over 150 people.  VISTA Today

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Devon Prep received $8 million from the Dunleavy Foundation (created by its notable alumnus Keith Dunleavy) to launch the Dunleavy Scholars program offering scholarships in persuasive writing and STEM education. Father Nelson Henao said the gift will help teachers guide students toward a strong academic future.  VISTA Today
  • Rustin High School Marching Band dazzled local audiences with a Van Gogh—inspired field show at the 6abc Action News Yard last Friday—where fifty-two members showcased months of practice to boost school spirit for upcoming competitions.  VISTA Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Pennsylvania senators Fetterman & McCormick appeared on Bret Baier’s Special Report to condemn the use of words like fascism and Nazism, saying such language can incite violence and hurt families still mourning conservative organizer Charlie Kirk, who was killed on Sept. 10. They stressed that free speech carries responsibilities and called for respectful, civil dialogue during these tense times.  The Philadelphia Inquirer

SPORTS NEWS

  • USA Luge visited Malvern on September 16—searching for young athletes aged nine to 13 who may join the team for the 2026 Winter Olympics. The Slider Search is part of a nationwide effort to find future Olympians.  VISTA Today
