  • Habitat for Humanity of Chester County ReStore is hosting a Fall Community Yard Sale and Vendor Event on Sept. 20 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Phoenixville ReStore at 785 Starr Street—local vendors pay a $25 donation to reserve a display and must sign up by Sept. 12 to help support affordable housing projects.  VISTA Today

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Church Farm School has named Jayme Karolyi as CFO, and she brings 25 years of school finance experience from roles at Holy Ghost Prep and the Shipley School—she will lead daily financial and operations management while working closely with the administrative team and Board of Directors to ensure fiscal integrity. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Shapiro approved SEPTA's request on Monday to access up to $394M in capital funds to keep daily transit operating for the next two years—this measure comes after a judge ordered the service cuts to be reversed.  FOX 29
  • Last year, Graffiti Pier owner Conrail agreed to transfer the pier to DRWC and the City, but its future remains in limbo—local officials have not yet set a clear plan.  VISTA Today
  • On Aug. 24, SEPTA cut services by reducing lines by 20%, raising fares by up to 3%, and eliminating 32 bus routes in Philadelphia and nearby counties, which has made West Chester commuters using the Paoli/Thorndale line worry about longer trips. Legal challenges halted further fare hikes while more cuts are planned for Jan. 1 — commuters face longer trips — and a lawsuit alleges the changes unfairly affect low-income riders.  The Quad
