- ➤ West Chester's QVC Group still faces problems after launching its WIN plan—focused on expanding social media and streaming. The company laid off 900 workers this spring and did a reverse stock split to meet NASDAQ rules while reporting a $2.2 billion loss and a seven percent drop in revenue. VISTA Today
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Authorities charged Kennett Square man Javier Rivera (33) with first-degree murder and theft after he allegedly fatally stabbed a 69-year-old during an attempted BMW theft in Kennett Township on August 10 and later fled on foot stealing additional vehicles including a Honda Accord and a Honda CRV before being arrested on August 11 with evidence linking him to the crimes. - ➤ Longwood Gardens Reimagined dedicated a space for the Cascade Garden that showcases the work of Brazilian artist and landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx, featuring 16 waterfalls—elements designed to evoke a rainforest with plant towers reflecting his Brazilian roots. VISTA Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ SEPTA announced that if state funding does not arrive soon, nearly half of its services will be cut starting August 24—this includes reducing 32 bus routes, shortening 16 routes, and decreasing service on 88 rail and regional lines. SEPTA also will raise fares in September and plans further cuts in January if the $213M budget deficit remains unresolved. FOX 29
- ➤ The Shapiro administration delayed new contracts with 52 local agencies responsible for protecting older adults while state officials work on adding tougher accountability measures—these agreements were extended for three months until oversight improvements using the CAPE system are finalized.
