ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On July 23, county commissioners approved $2.3 million in grants to preserve open spaces in Chester County, sending funds to conservation groups and municipalities such as Uwchlan, Caln, and Oxford. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Council members in Middletown Township voted unanimously to deny a 330,000-square-foot warehouse proposal at the old Franklin Mint site on Baltimore Pike after the developer failed to answer basic questions about tenant use and nearby gas pipeline impacts. Local residents voiced concerns about traffic, air quality, and noise during the heated meeting — prompting further scrutiny over the project.  The Philadelphia Inquirer
  • On Wednesday, a state House committee advanced a transit funding plan so SEPTA could get money by Aug 14 to avoid a 20% service cut on Aug 24. Senate leaders later proposed a short-term six-month budget if lawmakers did not reach a full deal by next week—this move shows the ongoing struggle to settle the state budget.  The Philadelphia Inquirer
