  • The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce has opened sponsorship and participation applications for the 2025 West Chester Christmas Parade, which will take place on Dec. 5 with a 6:30 p.m. tree lighting and a 7 p.m. parade led by returning emcees Kathy Romano and Adam Joseph — performer applications must be in by Aug. 29 while the event will feature a new 28-foot LED-lit Christmas tree on the courthouse lawn.  VISTA Today

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Firstrust Bank and the Philadelphia Eagles are launching the second season of the Brotherly Shove Business Spotlight, a contest that will award one Greater Philadelphia business up to $25,000 in promotional assets including mention on the Eagles Video Board, radio spots, digital ads + more. Nominations are open through Sept. 26 for privately owned for-profit businesses with annual revenue between $1 million and $50 million, and a committee from Firstrust Bank and the Eagles will choose semifinalists based on community involvement, originality, and fit.  VISTA Today
  • IFM Prover, a subsidiary of German firm IFM, opened a new 89,000-square-foot facility in Malvern this week to expand its operations in Chester County. The company said it will increase its headcount from 130 to 250 in the next two to three years — most new hires will work on the assembly line and in engineering.  VISTA Today

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Jane Tang, Dean and Professor at Gwynedd Mercy University, improved the NCLEX-RN pass rate and is now leading new projects to support future nurses. She moved from Taiwan with strong faith and now works closely with her team to build programs that address the nursing shortage—ensuring quality education for more caregivers.  VISTA Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Aqua Pennsylvania said Route 896 in Franklin Township will be closed on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. beginning July 28 through August 7 for paving work between Gypsy Hill Road and Parsons Road—motorists will follow alternate routes along Route 841, Strickersville Road and Appleton Road while local access remains open.  MyChesCo

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Chester County wineries offer scenic outdoor tastings with specialty wines made from on-site grapevines under warm summer evenings. Four wineries—Stargazer’s Vineyard in Coatesville, Paradocx Vineyard in Landenberg, Wayvine Vineyard & Winery in Kennett Square, and Va La Vineyards in Avondale—invite visitors to try unique wine offerings.  VISTA Today
