GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ PennDOT announced road closures for vital pipe replacement and base repair work across Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties. In Chester County, Brandywine Creek Road in Newlin Township will close on Thursday, July 10 and Friday, July 11 from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM; in Delaware County, Sweetwater Road in Thornbury Township will close full time from July 14 to 20 and partly from July 21 to 25; and in Montgomery County, Stump Hall Road will close on weekdays from today through July 25 while Game Farm Road will be closed from July 9 to 31, with detours available. - ➤ The Shapiro Administration invested nearly $10 million (part of a total $125.2 million in farmland preservation) to purchase development rights for farms and permanently preserve two farms in Chester County. Local funds of $1,120,966 (with $597,092 from state and $523,874 from county contributions) were used to protect the Paul A. Kavanagh, Jr. farm in Upper Oxford Township and a 92-acre crop farm in Franklin Township. VISTA Today
