  • Malvern Retreat House now holds a 40-foot papal cross used during Pope John Paul II’s 1979 visit to Philadelphia. The cross was moved over thirteen months and was dedicated on June 22—dozens of community members joined in celebrating its historical significance.  VISTA Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Josh Shapiro signed into law two bills championed by Rep. Chris Pielli of Chester on Friday to improve child safety and adjust juvenile justice for military children. House Bill 355 raises penalties for sexual assault cases involving mandated reporters—while House Bill 491 lets military installations work with state and local officials so youth can access better rehabilitative resources.  MyChesCo

  • Comedian Shane Gillis, a West Chester graduate, will host the 2025 ESPY Awards on July 16—he will use his funny style and local roots to lead one of sports’ biggest shows.
