  • After decades of keeping its mutual funds and exchange-traded funds together, Malvern-based Vanguard Group is splitting them into two management units that will report to President Greg Davis. The Capital Management unit, led by Sara Devereux and Rodney Comegys, will handle index funds—while the Portfolio Management unit, headed by John Ameriks, will manage actively managed funds.  VISTA Today
  • PPG Industries announced it will close its plant in Elverson—affecting 82 workers as a WARN notice says layoffs will begin in August and continue through next year. A spokesperson did not provide details on potential job reassignments.  WFMZ-TV
  • QVC Group in West Chester has launched live shopping channels for QVC and HSN on Philo. The channels will stream 40 hours a day—featuring popular shows and hosts—for both paid and free viewers.  WFMZ-TV

CULTURE NEWS

  • People’s Light is showing Little Shop of Horrors from today until Aug. 3, offering a mix of fun songs and spooky themes plus special preview nights and accessibility events. The production brings a well-known cult musical experience for audience members aged 12 and up.  VISTA Today
  • Hundreds gathered at the Chester County History Center in West Chester on June 24th for a moving Juneteenth reenactment — volunteer actors portrayed the delivery of General Order No. 3 that ended slavery in Texas. Organizers said more than 50 guests were turned away due to high turnout — they plan to use a larger venue next year.  VISTA Today

  • West Chester University’s PRIZE Program will celebrate 4 high school seniors who pledge to become teachers tomorrow from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the WCU Foundation—an effort to grow local talent and help ease the teacher shortage.  VISTA Today

  • Jenkins Arboretum’s horticulture team supports mushrooms to keep the garden healthy by minimizing soil disruption and letting fungi recycle nutrients back into the soil. The arboretum will partner with the Philadelphia Mycology Club on July 26 for a Summer Fungi Walk—visitors can also join a mushroom-themed art class in September.  VISTA Today
  • Veolia, a French company managing water and wastewater systems, opened a $35 million charcoal-filter plant last week to remove PFAS from Red Clay and White Clay Creeks in Chester County — the new facility meets EPA rules and protects water used by about 100,000 residents and industries.
