- ➤ The Propell Kids Foundation launched its new website to help the community support kids in crisis across Delaware and Chester Counties— the site provides easy access to sponsorship info, donation tools, and details on the upcoming golf classic this fall. VISTA Today
- ➤ West Chester community members can join Safe Harbor Trivia Night Fundraiser on June 26 at the Chester County History Center. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and trivia kicks off at 6:30 p.m.—tickets cost $30 per person or $240 per team, with all proceeds supporting Safe Harbor services. VISTA Today
- ➤ The Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Gala on the Greene at Graystone Mansion, where it honored the Transportation Management Association of Chester County + Bowman Consulting with the Corporate Citizenship Award and recognized Coatesville High School senior Elijah Okurmura as the academic scholarship winner. - ➤ Chester County will host several fireworks events this summer including Community Day in West Chester on June 28 with face painting, moon bounces and live music while Downingtown’s Good Neighbor Day on July 4 will feature races, carnival activities and fireworks at 9:30 p.m.—other celebrations in Kennett Square, Phoenixville and Chesterbrook will also offer food and live music to mark the season. - ➤ City of London Investment Management Company updated its historic Turks Head Garage headquarters in downtown West Chester with a custom audiovisual system from Haverford Systems—this upgrade, completed two years ago, improved meeting quality and will be rolled out in new offices in upstate New York and the United Kingdom. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Continuing a 19-year tradition at Freedom Village, 24 employees received scholarships from a resident-led Scholarship Fund. Donations from residents fund the awards—helping recipients pursue further education at colleges and trade schools. VISTA Today
- ➤ West Chester University received its largest donation when an anonymous donor gifted a 52-acre farm through a unique partnership with East Whiteland Township that generated $4.7 million during a signing ceremony on June 17. The preserved property — known as Ridley Springs — will serve as a living laboratory for students and a public park for Chester County. VISTA Today
