  • Thistle Hills in Coatesville offers a two-year, rent-free program (for up to four women survivors) with trauma-informed counseling, medical care, legal guidance and job training for independent living. The program, based on a proven Nashville model, is a partnership between the Episcopal Church of the Trinity and local recovery agencies.  VISTA Today
  • The Hops for Homes Beer Festival will take place on Saturday, June 20 from noon to 5:00 p.m. at the Chester County Art Association (100 N Bradford Ave), featuring craft drinks, live music, and food to support Habitat for Humanity’s affordable housing mission.  VISTA Today

  • People’s Light in Malvern presents Two Outta Three, a comedy cabaret created and performed by Jennifer Childs and Scott Greer from June 5 to 21. Tickets cost $45 (accessibility services are available on Sunday, June 14 by RSVP).  VISTA Today
  • Memorial Day weekend, visitors in West Chester can explore the 42-acre Medal of Honor Grove near Phoenixville and Valley Forge to honor over 3,500 military heroes. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Communities In Schools of Eastern Pennsylvania hosted its Ready, Set, Graduate! ceremony in Caernarvon Township Wednesday to honor over 20 at-risk students from Berks, Chester and Delaware counties who achieved important academic milestones.  WFMZ-TV
  • Two Chester County high school students earned associate degrees from Delaware County Community College before receiving their high school diplomas as part of a dual enrollment program that saw 30 students earn college credits last Thursday. Their early achievement positions them for a smoother transition to higher education.  VISTA Today
  • Over 100 teams from elementary, middle, and high schools competed in the Chester County Intermediate Unit’s annual Reading Olympics in April and May. The event promoted literacy and teamwork and is set to return next spring.  MyChesCo
