  • Local creamery Owowcow Creamery, founded in 2009 near Nockamixon State Park, is competing in USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice contest for best ice cream shop and is ranked third as of 9 a.m. May 20 — public voting runs until noon June 9. The shop, which handcrafts 24 flavors using local and natural ingredients, will have contest winners announced on June 18 — a milestone for the independent business.  WFMZ-TV

  • Frutta Bowls — a New Jersey acai bowl brand known for its healthy bowls and smoothies — opened a location at 1353 Dilworthtown Road near Highway 202 in West Chester offering both quick takeout and dine-in options.   • The West Whiteland Police Department issued a bench warrant on May 16 for James A. Wills, 41 (6 ft tall with brown hair and blue eyes) after he missed his retail theft court appearance and is asking anyone with information to call 610-363-0200.  MyChesCo

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Pennsylvania primary election is taking place today — polls opened at 7 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m., with voters in line by closing time allowed to vote. Mail-in ballots had to be received by Tuesday to be counted, and live election coverage begins at 9:30 p.m.  WFMZ-TV
