BUSINESS NEWS

  • West Chester’s former brewery space will become a Magerk’s Pub & Grill after a lease was signed following Iron Hill’s closure last fall, and the new tenant will offer pub-style, family-friendly dining in a 10,000 sqft location.  VISTA Today
  • Jonathan Salkin was chosen last week as the new CEO of Malvern-based LifeScan, a medical device company that emerged from bankruptcy after reducing over 75 percent of its debt; new ownership now backs the turnaround effort.  VISTA Today
  • Crop’s Fresh Marketplace (located at 1257 Horseshoe Pike) was named the best family-owned grocery store in the Mid-Atlantic, known for its in-house smoked meats and homemade donuts. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Drivers on Phoenixville Pike in West Whiteland and East Whiteland will face delays today from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. until Wednesday as PennDOT crews resurface the road and maintain a lane closure between King Road and U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) that may slow traffic.  MyChesCo

  • Talonda Rogers, founder of The 4th Trimester MOMMIE, leads a nonprofit offering postpartum support for mothers of color and will host a free wellness event on Saturday, May 16 at the Equity Health Center in Coatesville & it will feature health resources, yoga, and support groups.  The Philadelphia Inquirer
