  • West Chester's QVC Group overhauled executive pay as it prepared for Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. The company restructured compensation for top leadership with a 3-year retention deal for CEO David Rawlinson, whose $19.5 million stock forfeiture is part of a performance-based bonus plan.  VISTA Today

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Brandywine Conservancy and Museum of Art unveiled plans for a $100 million expansion that adds a 40,000 sqft gallery, new classroom spaces, walking trails and a nature preserve — linking the site to historic Wyeth homes.   • The Baldwin School unveiled a $4 million turf field on May 2 that now hosts field hockey, lacrosse and softball games on campus + it launched a ‘Grow the Game’ partnership with Longstreth Sporting Goods to offer youth clinics and develop female athletes.  WFMZ-TV
  • B. Reed Henderson High School from West Chester won the Pennsylvania State Academic Competition on May 1 at the Pennsylvania State Capitol by scoring 110 points against 19 teams. The win earned the team a $2,000 scholarship & marked their first state competition.  MyChesCo

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Chester County United Way — partnering with Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania — continues to offer free mobile home tax reassessment services that are projected to save participants more than $10 million over 10 years. Homeowners can apply online or by phone by July 17.  MyChesCo

HEALTH NEWS

  • A state health department report shows that only 17 of 67 counties reached the (95%) measles vaccination level needed to protect kindergartners last school year, leaving many schools in Chester County at risk. The data was obtained via a public records request to help parents assess local vaccination trends.  The Philadelphia Inquirer
  • Chester County Health inspectors cited five food establishments during May 6 inspections for unsafe food temperatures, handwashing failures, and sanitation issues. One restaurant was ordered to correct its hot water temperature within 48 hours to avoid closure.  MyChesCo
