ECONOMY NEWS

  • Seven neighborhoods (East Whiteland, Malvern, Easttown, Hamorton, Tredyffrin, Charlestown, and West Whiteland) in Chester County made the list of the 50 richest in Pennsylvania on May 3, with East Whiteland ranked highest at No. 20. The list shows these areas have high incomes and upscale homes.  VISTA Today

EDUCATION NEWS

  • West Chester University will hold 16 commencement ceremonies from May 9 to May 11 to honor 3,176 spring graduates from both undergraduate and graduate programs at its main campus and Philadelphia site. All ceremonies will be live-streamed and guests over three years old must have tickets, with free parking available in local garages—ensuring a smooth graduation process.  VISTA Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced that crews will repair deteriorating pavement in Chester County next week—drivers may face delays on U.S. 30 westbound, Route 29, Route 41, Route 162, Route 322, Hollow Road and White Horse Road as work zones emerge.  MyChesCo
  • PennDOT announced that starting Monday, May 5, work on U.S. 422 will include lane closures and detours from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.—crews will perform geotechnical borings between Keim Street and Grosstown Road through May 9. Additional work from May 12 to May 16 will close the eastbound ramp to Route 100 and flag High Street in Lower Pottsgrove Township—motorists are urged to allow extra travel time.  MyChesCo
