  • The West Whiteland Police Department is asking local residents for help finding Susan Wharley (52) who faces a bench warrant for alleged theft by deception, and anyone with information is urged to call 610-363-0200.  MyChesCo
  • Local law enforcement is asking residents for help to find 27-year-old Aisa Marie Pizarro Rosello—wanted for retail theft and receiving stolen property—after a warrant was issued on October 27; anyone with tips should call the West Whiteland Police Department at 610-363-0200.  MyChesCo

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Area Chamber presidents warned that proposed SEPTA service cuts will hurt our economy by lengthening commutes and limiting access to jobs and schools in suburban counties — including Chester, Montgomery, Bucks, and Delaware. They urged lawmakers to consider stable funding and new partnerships to keep our transit system running and support local workforce mobility.  VISTA Today

  • Kate Hutelmyer, who works as a water planner at Chester County Water Resources Authority and grew up in Caln Township, has been named a 2025 VISTA NextGen Superstar. She works on Watersheds 2045 to protect local waterways — her work will be honored at an awards reception on May 8 at the Penn State Great Valley Conference Center.  VISTA Today
  • Gov. Josh Shapiro announced Tuesday that FERC approved a settlement with PJM Interconnection that will lower the capacity auction price cap by 35%—this measure will save consumers over $21 billion over the next two years ahead of the July capacity auction.  WFMZ-TV

HEALTH NEWS

  • On April 22, nurses, doctors and health care workers rallied outside Crozer Hospital to protest Prospect Medical Holdings’ plan to close Crozer Health in 30 days after a failed sale effort—staff warned that patient care will suffer as ambulances are redirected today and patients are moved to other hospitals.  FOX 29
  • Crozer Chester Medical Center in Upland began shutting down Tuesday night after a bankruptcy judge approved its closure plan and at least six patients were transferred by helicopter or ambulance. Its emergency department will start diverting ambulances today—walk-ins are accepted until next week—and local officials are preparing other providers as layoffs for 2,600 employees are expected to begin Friday.  FOX 29

  • Course managers and volunteers in Chester County are preparing the turf for May steeplechase races by moving irrigation pipes every two days and filling divots by hand to keep the track smooth.
