  • Caroline Donato, a criminal defense partner at MacElree Harvey, Ltd., has been named a 2026 VISTA NextGen Superstar. The awards reception and celebration is scheduled for Thursday, April 30 (at Penn State Great Valley Conference Center in Malvern) to honor her and emerging leaders.  VISTA Today

  • Wawa’s decision to remain private and use an employee stock ownership plan allows it to reinvest and maintain uniform standards across its 1,200 company-owned stores, serving over one billion customers annually — the model keeps control with the Wood family and loyal employees, supporting steady growth since starting in Delaware County.  VISTA Today

CULTURE NEWS

  • A local report shows many famous people graduated from Chester County schools, including screenwriter Brad Ingelsby (of HBO’s Mare of Easttown), author Sara Shepard, Astros player Chas McCormick, NBA player Mo Bamba and writer J.D. Salinger, who drew on local experiences.  VISTA Today
  • Downingtown East High School graduate Joseph Ganzelli will perform with the U.S. Navy Band Cruisers on May 4 at 7 p.m. at 50 Devon Dr. in Exton (free event) as part of the band's Northeastern concert series celebrating the nation’s 250th birthday.  VISTA Today
  • Friedrich von Steuben, a Prussian captain, reformed the Continental Army at Valley Forge in 1778 after Benjamin Franklin and Silas Deane recommended his service. His strict training improved marching, formations and bayonet charges and later helped the troops gain French support.  VISTA Today

  • Garrett Nicholas, a West Chester University student, died and donated organs that saved three lives while his tissue donation is expected to help over 100 people. His legacy will be honored at Gift of Life’s 29th Donor Dash on Sunday, Apr. 26 at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.  WFMZ-TV
  • Garrett Nicholas, a Parkland grad and West Chester University student, was honored by the Gift of Life Donor Program for his organ donations — saving three lives and expected to help over 100 more — and his legacy will be celebrated at a donor dash on Sunday, Apr. 26 at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.  WFMZ-TV
