- ➤ Chester County farmers markets offer local groceries—including produce, dairy, meats and baked goods—and give residents a chance to buy fresh items. The Kennett Square market runs Fridays from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.—Phoenixville hosts its market Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.—while the Lancaster County market in Wayne is open Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. VISTA Today
- ➤ The YMCA of Greater Brandywine will host Breakfast of Champions on Wednesday, Apr. 23 at Penn Oaks Golf Club to honor over 5,000 volunteers who logged more than 76,800 service hours last year+ the event is part of Volunteer Appreciation Week from Apr. 20-26 and will feature awards for outstanding community service. Local community members will have a chance to recognize the volunteer efforts that help run YMCA programs across the area. VISTA Today

- ➤ The Creamery of Kennett Square received a $1 million state grant and private donations on April 18th and is preparing to add a cocktail bar and event space to its historic 1902 property—plans that include dividing a 19,000-square-foot building into 7,000 square feet for events and 2,500 square feet for the new Star — Lantern restaurant honoring Underground Railroad history. The renovations will help revitalize an unused area and maintain the community landmark's evolving role. VISTA Today
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Bradley Arroyo, a 23-year-old from Nottingham, was arrested by Oxford police on December 28 at 8:33 a.m. after a routine well-being check led officers to find suspected drugs and paraphernalia—lab tests confirmed the substances were controlled—and his preliminary hearing is set for April 29 at Oxford District Court.
