  • The Arc of Chester County partnered with Partners in Outreach to deliver Easter baskets to children in its preschool program and the families it serves. Leaders say the new alliance — formed through a shared commitment to support local families — will lead to more inclusive holiday programs in coming months.  VISTA Today
  • Local restaurants and bars have joined forces after a $250,000 funding cut to the Chester County Food Bank and collected food and essential supplies for families in need. Stephanie Gray from Kildare’s Irish Pub is leading the drive (with over 20 drop-off sites) that supports both the food bank and West Chester Food Cupboard today.  VISTA Today

  • Giunta’s Furniture hired MyOfficeOps—as its fractional chief revenue officer—to update pricing, sales process and marketing, and within six months the business saw a double-digit rise in sales, website traffic and customer visits at both locations. CRIME NEWS

  • Kennett Square police are searching for 40-year-old Virgilio Ramos-Lopez who is accused of attacking a woman and two juveniles in a domestic dispute on April 14th—officers saw him with blood on his face and chest and say he struck one juvenile with a metal broom handle while throwing a knife.  MyChesCo

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On April 9, middle school students from Chester County made creative videos about local manufacturing and won awards after more than 20,000 online votes. Octorara Junior High won the Viewer’s Choice Award and teams from Penn’s Grove and Great Valley Middle Schools received honors as the contest celebrated its 10th year—organizers said the event recognized rising local talent.  VISTA Today
  • Church Farm School will honor Lori McDermott with the 2025 Newton Disney Service Award at the Alumni Dinner on May 10. McDermott has served as Director of Alumni and Community Engagement for 18 years and has supported many local groups + helped create the award.  VISTA Today

SPORTS NEWS

  • Michael McDermott, a Havertown native and CEO of Kathmere Capital Management, played as a marker at the Masters tournament in Georgia last weekend, keeping score and helping maintain the pace for his group. A celebrated local golf talent with multiple awards and a long history at top clubs, he participated for the second time in three years + impressed fellow golfers with his performance.  The Philadelphia Inquirer
