- ➤ Residents in Chester County have shown creativity at local tailgate competitions where families dress in themed costumes and share homemade foods — events held during horse races such as the Willowdale Steeplechase. Coatesville resident Melissa Holm won first place last year with a Barbie-themed look and Westtown resident Mike Tillson will drive his 1930 Packard 745 Convertible Coupe on May 17 at the Radnor Hunt — a festive highlight for the upcoming race. - ➤ Chester County Commissioners have started projects from citizen recommendations in the Innovate Chester County initiative to support children’s mental health, veteran services, affordable housing and community transit service.
