  • Residents in Chester County have shown creativity at local tailgate competitions where families dress in themed costumes and share homemade foods — events held during horse races such as the Willowdale Steeplechase. Coatesville resident Melissa Holm won first place last year with a Barbie-themed look and Westtown resident Mike Tillson will drive his 1930 Packard 745 Convertible Coupe on May 17 at the Radnor Hunt — a festive highlight for the upcoming race.  VISTA Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Chester County Commissioners have started projects from citizen recommendations in the Innovate Chester County initiative to support children’s mental health, veteran services, affordable housing and community transit service. More than 100 residents joined work groups as the county uses available resources to begin some projects and studies other ideas that need more time and investment.  VISTA Today

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Lennar is building multiple housing projects in Chester County — including the Downingtown Ridge community with units starting in the low $500,000s and Phoenixville Heights with 188 townhomes beginning in the low $400,000s. The company plans to boost its annual closed sales to 1,000 in the coming years — expanding its Greater Philadelphia footprint.  VISTA Today

  • Media Rugby Club partnered with local tech company PTZOptics to produce a high-quality multi-camera broadcast of a recent rugby match that captured the game’s excitement.
