  • West Chester University is hosting WCU Week 2026 from Apr. 13 to Apr. 19 (featuring campus and community events) including a clothing drive, family fun, Banana Day festivities, a business pitch contest, a gala at Longwood Gardens and a clean-up at Rustin Park.  VISTA Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • PennDOT will resurface and improve roads next week with lane closures along Kaolin/Limestone Road in Kennett and New Garden townships on Monday, Apr. 13 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and at U.S. 202/Route 926 in Westtown Township on weekdays until Friday, Apr. 24 — drivers should allow extra time.  MyChesCo
  • Aqua Pennsylvania will close Whitford Road (Crump Road to Business U.S. 30) from Friday, Apr. 24 to Friday, May 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on weekdays, and drivers are advised to use Business U.S. 30 and Route 100 as alternate routes.  MyChesCo
  • PennDOT crews will repair deteriorated pavement on U.S. 30, Business U.S. 30, U.S. 202, U.S. 322 and additional local roads next week with daytime lane closures across Chester County. Drivers should allow extra time and consider alternate routes to avoid delays.  MyChesCo

HEALTH NEWS

  • On April 10, inspectors found food safety violations at Bevan’s Cold Cuts and Lukoil West Chester #69730, noting improper food storage and refrigeration issues; the health department said these conditions may not reflect long-term compliance while several other establishments passed inspection.  MyChesCo
  • Pennies in Action will host its annual Showers of Hope Gala Saturday, April 18 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Desmond Hotel on 1 Liberty Boulevard in Malvern to support breakthrough cancer research & innovative treatments.  MyChesCo
