  • The FirstBank Charitable Foundation will host its second annual Better Giving for Greater Impact Summit on May 7 at 9:00 a.m. (at the Chester County History Center) in West Chester, where nonprofit leaders, donors and business representatives will meet to share local giving strategies until 4:30 p.m. (registration is free but advance sign-up is requested).  VISTA Today
  • A part of West Chester’s FarmerJawn lost its nonprofit status because it did not file its yearly return, but founder Christa Barfield said the group will continue giving affordable organic produce and free food training to the community.   • Chester County recorded the fastest population growth in Pennsylvania as 26,300 new residents joined between 2020 and 2024 according to Census data from July 1. The county increased by nearly five percent—despite high home prices with a median sale price of $495,000.  VISTA Today

  • Provell Pharmaceuticals in Honey Brook filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy after 20 years in business because of problems with its drug supplier.   • Verrica Pharmaceuticals reported strong first-quarter growth for its molluscum contagiosum treatment YCANTH, with dispensed applicator units rising from 8,654 to 10,102—a 16.7% sequential increase influenced by a recent commercial restructuring.   • Nearly 500 art pieces by high school students are on display at the Chester County High School Art Exhibition at the Chester County Art Association in West Chester, where some entries are also part of Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan’s Congressional Art Competition for the 6th District.   • Jordan Peek, project manager for AgConnect at Chester County Economic Development Council, has been named one of the 2025 VISTA NextGen Superstars — a nod to her work in supporting local agriculture and growth.
