  • Cradles to Crayons launched its annual Spring Greening clothing drive on April 1 to collect donated children’s clothing at 16 drop-off locations in Philadelphia, Chester, Delaware & Montgomery counties. CRIME NEWS

  • Federal and state officials said fentanyl overdose deaths dropped to about 1,500 in 2025 due to strong enforcement that seized large amounts of drugs, even as potent synthetics like medetomidine and nitazenes show new risks.  MyChesCo

  • Longwood Gardens has introduced a flexible ticket upgrade that lets visitors leave and reenter for an extra $6 — they can enjoy bright daytime blooms and enchanting nighttime views. The option is offered Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from March 27 through Oct. 25.  VISTA Today
  • The 133-year-old Phoenix Wheel, built in the late 1880s and once a fixture on Asbury Park’s boardwalk, now stands along Bridge Street in downtown Phoenixville.   • Five high school teams from four local schools competed in a business pitch challenge hosted by Firstrust Bank and the Eagles at the Firstrust Bank Club — two winning teams received $2,500 each, one for a portable fan and fragrance diffuser and one for promoting digital inclusion for seniors.  VISTA Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Yellow Springs Road will be closed during daytime from Monday, Apr. 13 to Tuesday, Apr. 21 in West Pikeland TWP for pipe replacement work, and drivers should take alternate routes such as Routes 113 + 401 to avoid delays.  MyChesCo
  • PennDOT will close lanes on U.S. 422 in North Coventry (Monday, Apr. 6 to Friday, Apr. 10) for roadway reconstruction and bridge improvements, causing daytime delays and backups in work zones. Drivers should plan extra time and consider alternate routes to avoid congestion.  MyChesCo
  • Drivers will face delays at the U.S. 202 and Route 926 intersection — construction starts Monday, April 6 and continues on weekdays until Thursday, April 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The project will add turn lanes and update signals to boost safety.  MyChesCo

  • Blackbird Health has welcomed Dr. Michael Tang as its new chief medical officer. Tang brings deep expertise in integrated behavioral health from previous roles to strengthen the provider's whole-child care model + expand services at clinics across Pennsylvania and nearby areas.  VISTA Today
  • On April 2, inspectors from Chester County Health found multiple food safety violations at Concert Penn Oaks and Roots Cafe in West Chester and The Jockey Tavern in Malvern, noting improper food storage, sanitation & equipment issues.
