CRIME NEWS

  • A 35-year-old Coatesville man was taken into custody on March 30th after he allegedly became combative and spat on an officer near 50 North High Street in West Chester—he faces charges of assaulting a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness.  MyChesCo
  • On March 21, a 20-year-old West Chester man was charged with attempted homicide after he allegedly assaulted a family member and tried to stab them with a kitchen knife at 201 South Matlack Street—new evidence on March 27 prompted additional charges before he was processed at the police department and returned to Chester County Prison.  MyChesCo
  • Agustin Cisneros-Bedolla, 42, of West Grove was arrested in early March after setting a business on fire with people inside and later waived his preliminary hearing—he faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated arson, robbery, and possession of weapons of mass destruction as he awaits further court action.  Chester County Press

  • On April 2, Widener University nursing student Elizabeth Martin served as President for a Day, handling classes, a work shift, and meetings that built ties with Chester—she will soon graduate in May and start working at Lancaster General Hospital. HEALTH NEWS

  • Independence Blue Cross and National Fitness Campaign are teaming up to bring free outdoor fitness courts to Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.
