  • West Chester resident Tyler Haines, owner of Fitness Factory WC, was named a 2026 VISTA NextGen Superstar and will be honored at the Penn State Great Valley Conference Center in Malvern on Thursday, Apr. 30 (his gym serves as a community hub for fitness and confidence building).  VISTA Today
  • Chester County welcomes two Easter events this weekend. In West Chester at 240 East Market St., the Easter Bunny Express on April 4 offers a 90 minute train ride with three scheduled sessions, while in Exton, Bounce U hosts Bunny Bounce on April 2 and 3 with $20 tickets for children.  VISTA Today

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Today, a study by Niche names Conestoga High School and Downingtown West High School as two of the best in Pennsylvania for student athletes. The ranking is based on data about sports offerings, championship wins, enrollment, and surveys from students and families.  VISTA Today
  • Octorara Area School District students excelled at the regional STEM Design Challenge at the Chester County Intermediate Unit — teams Citrax and E-Bricks earned first-place finishes and will advance to the state competition on Friday, May 8 at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg.  MyChesCo

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Montgomery County has joined Bucks, Chester, and Delaware counties in inviting proposals for rooftop and ground-mounted solar arrays that could save up to $25 million over 11 years. The plan remains in early stages and each county will fund its own installations.  VISTA Today

  • The Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday against Colorado’s ban on conversion therapy for youth, a move experts say could threaten similar protections in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Legal challenges may follow as states work to secure safe mental health care for children.  The Philadelphia Inquirer

HEALTH NEWS

  • In 2025 in Chester County, officials reported 55 accidental overdose deaths—the lowest in nearly a decade. The county credited community organizations and county-wide partnerships for treatment efforts in Monday’s joint announcement by the Board of Commissioners.  VISTA Today
  • The Chester County Health Department cited food safety violations at Berwyn Pizza Shop and Main Line Tavern on Monday—problems include improper food storage, sanitation issues, and equipment concerns, while other local eateries remained in compliance.
