  • Giant will begin construction later this year on a 60,000-square-foot grocery store at the Shoppes of Sadsbury in Parkesburg which will be its thirteenth in Chester County and anchor a 360,000-square-foot retail center anchored by Target. The new store fills a gap between West Chester and Lancaster and follows recent openings in Jenkintown and Philadelphia.  VISTA Today

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Longwood Gardens announced that four horticultural professionals—Nathaniel Cody from Norfolk, Jennifer Dick from Waterloo, Carmen Grey from Winnipeg, and Yan Li from Shenyang—were selected for this year's Fellows Program. The program offers a hands-on leadership track in horticulture and marks the first year international fellows have joined it.  VISTA Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • PennDOT began repairing roads in Chester County to fix potholes caused by rapid freeze-thaw cycles since January 1, and crews are working on key routes like U.S. 1, U.S. 202, and Route 100—drivers should slow down and expect delays near work zones.  MyChesCo
  • The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced milling and paving on several state highways in Chester County with daily lane closures from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from today until April 4.   • Malvern Prep senior Tague Davis, son of Phillies broadcaster Ben Davis, is one of the area's top baseball prospects after he committed to play for Louisville and posted a .375 average with five home runs, 32 RBIs, and a .694 slugging percentage this season.
