CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission warned consumers on Thursday after more than 70 callers reported a scam that used the agency's phone number—falsely claiming a switch of utility service and demanding a cancellation fee to avoid termination. The PUC advised consumers to hang up and call their utility provider directly if they are in doubt about the call. WFMZ-TV
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square is featuring rare blue poppies—native to the Himalayas—for a limited time through March. Skilled horticulturists timed the bloom and visitors have only a few days left to view the unique display. VISTA Today
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Church Farm School’s Christopher Kramaric was named a 2025 VISTA NextGen Superstar. He will be honored on May 8 at the Penn State Great Valley Conference Center — where his work to secure philanthropic support for the school is recognized. VISTA Today
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Josh Shapiro said on March 25th that he opposes a $13 million USDA cut that may stop farmers from supplying 14 food banks — one of which risks losing 500,000 meals each month — and he warned that legal action will follow if the decision is not reversed. WFMZ-TV
