  • West Chester's QVC Group named media veteran Alex Wellen as its first chief growth officer and president to lead the company's U.S. growth strategy — covering social selling, streaming, digital, new business, and platform distribution. He will report directly to CEO David Rawlinson II — whose contract was extended through 2027.  VISTA Today

CULTURE NEWS

  • Longwood Gardens was named the best botanical garden in the country by USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice on March 20; the 1,000-acre site near Kennett Square opened in 1921+ it shows both indoor and outdoor displays.  FOX 29
  • People’s Light has named Shonali Burke as its new Managing Director effective Jun. 1 — she was chosen after a national search for her proven leadership and theatre expertise. She will work as a co-equal leader with Producing Artistic Director Zak Berkman during the theatre’s 50th anniversary season as the organization plans future growth in its artistic and community programs.  VISTA Today
  • Over 120 women riders gathered at Plumstead Farm in Unionville on March 20th for the annual Mr. Stewart’s Cheshire Foxhounds’ Vixen Hunt where they enjoyed an elegant afternoon tea, lively music, and a hay wagon ride before setting off on the hunt. Olympic equestrian Boyd Martin attended the event, and organizer Rachel Wilkoski said local men helped by clearing dishes and pouring champagne throughout the celebration.  VISTA Today

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Fifteen West Chester University students returned from a nine-day study abroad trip to Europe where they learned about transatlantic relations — visiting Germany, Belgium, and France, and meeting European peers as part of their ongoing class led by two professors. Their experience with NATO and international diplomacy gave them new ideas for future careers abroad.  VISTA Today
