  • After being adopted from Brandywine Valley SPCA in early May, Sasha, an older Australian Cattle Dog, escaped and West Chester neighbors searched for her over five days, raising questions about clear animal adoption protocols (including behavior and medical history details).  MyChesCo
  • Chester County celebrates Women's History Month by spotlighting local woman-owned businesses including Bella Vita Coffee and Cream, Elite Hair Designs, Pine + Quill, and Precision Painting Pros in Exton, Paoli, West Chester and Honey Brook.   • Utility construction by Aqua Pennsylvania on Whitford Road will disrupt travel in Uwchlan and West Whiteland from March 23 to April 30 on weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Drivers should follow detour signs to Business U.S. 30, Route 100, Route 113 + Crump Road.  MyChesCo
  • Christine McGowan has converted her Birchrunville farm (13 acres) into the Nokota Horse Preserve to rescue endangered wild Nokota horses. The preserve shelters seven horses and plans to accept more as she works to find new owners.  VISTA Today

  • On Mar. 5, a Brandywine Valley HVAC technician paused his work on Copes Lane in East Bradford to rescue a customer's cat trapped in a high tree + he then completed his service call after reuniting the pet with its owner.  VISTA Today

CULTURE NEWS

  • Immaculata University’s Fashion Merchandising program will host its annual fashion show on Saturday, Mar. 21 from 6-8:00 p.m. in the Great Hall, featuring student designs, local collections, live music, vendor experiences, and light refreshments.  VISTA Today

HEALTH NEWS

  • Thursday inspections by the Chester County Health Department uncovered food safety violations at four licensed facilities in Kennett Square, Spring City and Coatesville. Some local businesses met standards while residents can file complaints if they observe unsanitary conditions.  MyChesCo
  • Chester County has been chosen as one of six nationwide to pilot a crisis training program for youth mental health. The program, run by the county’s Department of Mental Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, completed its first training session (March 4 to 6).  MyChesCo
