EDUCATION NEWS

  • Pennsylvania public and private schools will begin teaching cursive starting April 12 after Gov. Josh Shapiro signed the new law with bipartisan support. The Department of Education will release guidelines soon (helping teachers adjust lesson plans) to outline curriculum updates.  FOX 29

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Chester County officials plan to add EV charging stations using federal grant funds from the NEVI (National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure) program. They are urging local municipalities and business chambers to apply for funding by Aug. 21 to support about 100 stations for daily EV use.  VISTA Today
  • Reworld spent $45,000 lobbying Philadelphia City Council to keep its trash incineration contract for Philly waste in Chester, and a proposed ban was withdrawn in January. Chester residents worry about pollution and job losses as the seven-year deal expires this summer (Reworld says it operates below federal pollution limits).  VISTA Today
