  • Kennett Square’s Mezzaluna Wood Fired Pizza earned international acclaim at the Pizza Expo—it ranked third in the non-traditional category among 110 finalists and won first in the northeast preliminary contest amid over 500 global entrants.  VISTA Today
  • Toughkenamon’s Blacklab Breads (in south Chester County) offers freshly made breads, sandwiches, and treats that loyal fans find through word-of-mouth and social media. The bakery is open Saturdays and Sundays (10 AM to 2 PM) and is known for its Maritozzi and cannoli.  VISTA Today

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Chester County has six of the region’s wealthiest spots by income. Pocopson Township leads with a median income of $230,000 from a five-year U.S. Census survey ending in 2024, while West Pikeland and Birmingham also rank high.  The Philadelphia Inquirer
  • The Chester County Economic Development Council earned CDFI certification from the U.S. Treasury plus a $2 million grant from the Department of Community and Economic Development after a Feb. 24 event in Malvern.   • PECO is pursuing a diverse strategy to keep energy reliable and affordable by investing nearly $10 billion in grid transmissions, renewable energy, battery storage, and demand response programs for local customers. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Delaware County Community College announced 2,763 Fall 2025 honorees who met strict GPA and credit requirements - students from Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, Bucks and Philadelphia counties were recognized. The college emphasized its commitment to quality education.  VISTA Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • PennDOT's work on U.S. 202 along Wilmington Pike and Route 926 along Street Road will cause delays from Monday, Mar. 2 to Friday, Mar. 20, with lane closures from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on weekdays as crews improve traffic flow (special measures guard the Westtown Inn).  MyChesCo
  • Township supervisors approved the purchase of 24 acres from Rock Hill Farm on Feb. 12 using the Open Space Fund + a local group continues to oppose developer Brian O’Neill’s plan to build luxury homes on the 246-acre property.   • The Chester County Health Department cited Nirvana Indian Bistro — a Berwyn eatery — and Nook & Kranny Kafé in Phoenixville on Feb. 24 for food safety violations including improper food temperatures and sanitation issues. Staff corrected some issues during inspections.  MyChesCo
