  • After Di Bruno Bros. closed in Wayne and Ardmore, Carlino's Market in West Chester gives locals a homegrown Italian-specialty option that has served the community since 1983 (the family-run store keeps its traditional quality even as its products expand nationwide).  VISTA Today
  • Ashley Pierce (formerly of the Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce) has been named president of the Exton Region Chamber of Commerce as of Feb. 23. She brings a strong background in communications and membership growth to lead efforts in the Greater Exton Area.  VISTA Today
  • Chase Bank will open 14 new branches in Greater Philadelphia this year; three will launch in Chester County at 808 E. Baltimore Pike in Kennett Square, 293 Schuylkill Road in Phoenixville, and Nova Way and Octorara Trail in Parkesburg (adding 300 jobs).  VISTA Today

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Kristin Proto led the Garage Community and Youth Center in Kennett Square, managing youth programs—ranging from academics and creative arts to internship opportunities—to support nearly 500 students over the past decade.  VISTA Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • West Fallowfield Township won a $1 million federal grant to help Cochranville (a 300-year-old village) get its first public water line. Township officials will gather additional funds to upgrade infrastructure and support local commerce, but ground-breaking is several years away.  The Philadelphia Inquirer

SPORTS NEWS

  • Chester Springs teen Jamie DiGiacomo broke state and national archery records and won gold at the USA Archery Arizona Cup on Feb. 23, and she will soon compete in contests in Utah, California and Ohio as she balances online schooling with training.  VISTA Today
