GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Drivers on U.S. 1 in southern Chester County will face periodic 15-minute stops overnight on Thursday, Feb. 19 and Friday, Feb. 20 during a $10.4m PennDOT project to widen the highway between Schoolhouse Road and the Kennett Oxford Bypass.   • The Pennsylvania Turnpike reopened after a canopy collapsed at the Downingtown interchange on Wednesday as crews removed the structure in preparation for toll plaza demolition + no one was hurt.  6abc Philadelphia
  • A heavily traveled stretch of Paoli Pike in Willistown Township will close from Mon, March 2 until Friday, July 31 for PECO Energy’s utility upgrade work, steering drivers to detour via Devon Road, Darby Road & U.S. 30. Motorists should allow extra travel time.  MyChesCo
