  • Downtown West Chester is planning a busy year of America250 events for 2026. The borough will host a time capsule project, tree dedication, flag displays, student contests, and Liberty Bell art (in collaboration with community groups and West Chester University).  VISTA Today
  • Today, Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania kicked off the 2026 cookie season featuring a new flavor called Exploremores and fan favorites like Thin Mints and Caramel deLites — cookies sold for $6 or $7 help fund local Girl Scouts programs.  VISTA Today
  • Local Girl Scouts will launch their cookie sale Thursday in Salisbury Twp. The sale will offer the new Rocky Road cookie and best-selling Thin Mints, with all earnings staying in eastern Pennsylvania to help the girls learn money management and sales skills.  WFMZ-TV

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Frontage Laboratories in Exton finished quality checks on its GMP facility in October and now produces clinical phase III trial and commercial batches using advanced equipment for sterile and non-sterile products. The lab will help small and mid-sized companies speed drug market entry — serving as a one-stop solution.  WFMZ-TV
  • Valley Forge-based UGI Corporation announced on Thursday that it will sell its LPG distribution in Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia to Dublin company DCC plc to reduce debt and focus on its domestic operations — the deal is expected to close in the first half of 2026.  WFMZ-TV

CULTURE NEWS

  • Chester County hunt clubs continue a centuries-old equestrian tradition with fox hunts and conservation programs scheduled regularly. Radnor Hunt in Willistown Township (the nation’s oldest continuous fox hunt) and Kimberton Hunt Club in Chester Springs host rides that preserve local history.  VISTA Today

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Church Farm School has named Robert Meals as Director of Safety and Risk Management and Allyson McHugh as Executive Assistant to the Head of School. Meals (with over 30 years of safety experience) will work with campus teams to boost security as McHugh replaces retiring Julie Wickland.  VISTA Today

HEALTH NEWS

  • West Chester-based Exokinetics is helping disabled veterans regain mobility using Zeen, a device that lets users sit, stand and walk without motors or batteries. CEO Rick Sherak said the device returns dignity by allowing veterans to engage with the world at a better height.  VISTA Today
  • Chester County health officials inspected seven food establishments on Wednesday, Jan. 14 and found violations including unsafe temperatures, sanitation lapses, and rodent activity (affecting restaurants, markets, and a childcare center) that prompted immediate corrective actions with follow-up inspections planned.  MyChesCo

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Seven Chester County neighborhoods are in Pennsylvania’s top 50 richest, with East Whiteland ranking highest — followed by Malvern, Easttown, Hamorton, Tredyffrin, Charlestown and West Whiteland. The list was released today and highlights the county’s upscale communities.  VISTA Today
