  • In June, Chester County held its annual luncheon at Penn Oaks Golf Club in West Chester to honor centenarians who shared life lessons from a long and inspiring journey. Thirty-five of the 148 invited centenarians celebrated their legacy and offered wisdom to county officials.  VISTA Today

  • Moody National REIT II sold the 125-room Hampton Inn Philadelphia Great Valley Malvern in Frazer to BNS Associates for $10.4M on Dec. 11, 2025 — the deal came at $83,200 per room as the hotel earned $2.5M in revenue over nine months.  VISTA Today
  • Smart Energy Initiative will host its 14th Annual Energy Briefing on Feb. 5 from 8 AM to 10 AM at the Chester County Economic Development Council in Exton. The briefing will cover ITC changes + their impact on local energy projects.  VISTA Today
  • PICPA CEO Jen Cryder was named among Accounting Today's top 100 most influential people in accounting; she drives innovation at PICPA & is the first woman CEO in its history. The honor recognizes her ongoing contributions to the profession.  WFMZ-TV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Arc of Chester County Preschool is now enrolling children ages 2 yrs 7 months to 5 yrs in its inclusive, licensed program that offers early learning through play and structured routines. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Local homeowners in West Chester can cut heating costs by sealing air leaks with affordable fixes like window film kits, door sweeps (commonly under $20) and outlet foam sealers. Experts say a quick visit to the hardware store can help save money as winter sets in.  WFMZ-TV

HEALTH NEWS

  • Chester County Hospital is hosting free & low-cost winter wellness events starting today, including a virtual bone health talk, a blood pressure screening at West Chester Area YMCA on Jan. 22, a youth mental health training on Jan. 23, and support groups through Feb. 4.  VISTA Today
  • Chester County health inspectors found food safety issues at local eateries on Tuesday; several establishments discarded expired dairy, mishandled hot and cold foods, and unsanitized equipment to reduce risk, and residents are urged to report concerns by calling 610-344-6225.  MyChesCo

  • An old vacant office building in Exton was redeveloped into 32 apartments (24 studios, eight one-bedroom) by a group led by local lawyer David McFadden. The project at 19 N. Pottstown Pike was bought in 2023 for $1.5 million and may be a model for future suburban conversions.  VISTA Today
  • Niche.com ratings show Chester County as home to eight of the 25 Best Places to Live in PA, with Chesterbrook ranked as the nation's best. The rankings, using public data (Census, FBI, and labor statistics), highlight local communities including Berwyn and Upper Uwchlan Township that attract families.  VISTA Today
