- ➤ Comedian Shane Gillis signed an overall deal with Netflix as production began on season three of his local series Tires, which follows a family-run auto repair shop. He and his partner (John McKeever) will develop films, series and two new stand-up specials. VISTA Today
- ➤ West Chester native Madeline Raube stars as Mrs. Peacock in the stage play CLUE at the Forrest Theatre from Jan. 20–25. The interactive production, based on the classic board game and film, invites the audience to help solve the mystery in real time. 6abc Philadelphia
- ➤ Local voice actor Brandon Miles builds a thriving career from his Coatesville home, voicing for brands like Amazon, Pepsi, and Nintendo. - ➤ Ursinus College received a generous donation from an anonymous alumna that fully funded 50 Experiential Learning Grants for first-year students in the APEX program and added $200,000 to the Ursinus Fund to support academic priorities. VISTA Today
- ➤ Central Bucks East graduate Dan Wang, now a Stanford researcher, wrote the best-seller 'Breakneck: China’s Quest to Engineer the Future' that ranked on the New York Times list for two weeks in September. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday, Jan. 13, Pennsylvania residents could use a new tool on PA Navigate (which supports SNAP work requirements) to find local volunteer roles. The site lets individuals search by ZIP code and helps organizations track volunteer hours. FOX 29
- ➤ SNAP recipients can now use PA Navigate to find local volunteer opportunities to meet new work requirements — announced Tuesday by the Department of Human Services — and keep their benefits. This tool helps connect community organizations with residents in need of volunteer roles. WFMZ-TV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Inspections on Monday, Jan. 12 found food safety issues at multiple venues in Chester County. West Chester establishments like Aventura at Pembrooke and Country Bagel Bakery were cited for unsanitary conditions and equipment failures (including broken sinks and missing labels), and officials urged immediate corrections.
